In March 2020, right before the Covid-19 lockdown, Rabbi Yisroel and Mushky Gordon arrived in Mammoth Lakes to open a Chabad center for the Jews of the Eastern Sierra. Together, they are dedicated to sharing the joy of Judaism with each and every Jew in the Eastern Sierra and building a strong Jewish community.

Since moving here, the family grew with the births of their two daughters; Shaina and Rivka, and their son Mendel.

Rabbi Yisroel’s favorite sport in Mammoth is biking and he loves riding in the fall, with all the pretty fall colors.

Mushky’s favorite sport in Mammoth is skiing and her favorite time to do so is in the spring, without a coat.

Shaina, Rivka and Mendel are looking forward to their first ski and snowboarding lessons.

The entire family enjoys hiking and viewing all the pretty sites locally. They also love when visitors stop by, especially for Shabbos!
